Hello there, am a new member to this forum. I am going to look at a 90' this weekend and need some advice. Its a 1990-Greg Deffender 90 TDI. Can you all please tell me what goes wrong on them. It passed last MOT with no advisorys but If i Buy it i willl need to MOT it in a months time. Im hoping he isnt just selling as it wont pass the MOT and aprently hes done a lot of work on the vehicle only covering 2000 miles from the last one. Thanks Max

Yes get him to mot it and if it passed your offer to pay for the mot it if fails depending on what's wrong if any your decide , if he is that confident that should not be a problem. Don't chance it.

As a rule I never buy a motor with less than 6 months Mot, you would at least have time to fix it. If they are digging in about it say that if it passes you will pay the test fee as part of the purchase and the. If it fails you can decide from the fail list if it is a bag of spanners or not

Not by much though, not as they sell.

Converted TDis go for only marginally less than original TDis of only a couple of years difference.
