Hello , my dad has a 1989 land rover 90 and I tried putting his spare wheel on my 1986 land rover 90 due to fitting different tyres on mine . But my dads rim centre size are smaller then mine. Just wondered if my 90 has older axles or has some one put 110 axles on it ?

hubs are all the same or should be ,after 94 on drive members hub caps etc are thinner to take alloy wheels

are you sure the spare fits your dads aswell???

It may well be a series steel rim in which case it might be tight/or mega mega close to fit over the hub centre. Most have been "touched" with a grinder by now.Or laying on your back stomping them on has worked in the past to get a motor mobile off a safari course. Make sure the wheel you have fits your old mans tho.

There could be soooo many reasons one could be that your old mans has later axles fitted and alloys which usually fit the rears but not the fronts on older deep type drive members. I'll stop guessing now....

Is it a steel wheel?? Pic??

[/IMG] mines the wolf rim 235 85 r16 and his is the standard 205 75 r16 . No I bought the truck from Bedford and would be interest who used to own it .

I think its an old series SWB rim the centre is very tight over the coil sprung hubs lots have been touched with a grinder Very slightly to make them fit less snug.

You may find that as its a spare the ones on the motor may well be later wheels and the spare will be kicked on when needed.

P.s Take a look at BHCLRC not a bad bunch or even Welcome to Anglian Land Rover Club the landy will hold its own trialing.
