Hi, my landrover freelander 2 2012 plate has started to smell of paint thinner. I have read it can be the lambda sensor.

Any idea how to removed and replace it? I have searched online but cannot find it anywhere.

thanks

What piece of information says it's an O2 sensor at fault?
The O2 isn't used for anything important on this engine. It's just used as a confirmation to the ECM that the EGR system is passing the correct amount of exhaust gas.

Hi, it’s got a smell like paint thinner coming into the cabin and when I googled this it said it was a faulty oxygen sensor, it’s quite strong when the cars been running for a while and when you turn it off you can smell it on the outside of the car.

If it's coming through the heater, it's very unlikely to be anything to do with the exhaust, considering the tail pipe is some 12 ft from the heater intake.
Normally smells though the heater originate from the engine bay, mainly from oil dripping onto hot components like the exhaust manifold or turbo. There is a common leak point on these vehicles, where oil from the intake tube drips out of a badly sealed joint onto the turbo, which then burns off making an unpleasant smell inside the vehicle. That's where I'd be looking. The O2 is a red herring, it's not responsible for anything other than monitoring in this vehicle.
