My TD4 2006 seems to have reverted to how it was when I first purchased it before I blanked the egr, fitted a ronbox with pierburg maf.
It has started lagging when I put my foot on the pedal to move off from stationary or nearly stationary. Once it gets past that lag all is fine. There is no smoke.

Should I be suspecting the maf?

I have had this most of the time i owned the car (7 years)

last year i changed the bog roll filter for a new one and miraculously the lag stopped

not sure why it should have this effect though

could also be the recent ambient temps.
i.e. under bonnet heat .. and the a.i.temps

mine were doing similar on wed. ..
( all engine mods. removed .. just the intake mod / egr delete .. in place )
almost stalled moving-off from a t.light on a relatively steep uphill

was fine above 2k rpm (aprox. as my scangaugeII weren't connected )

has brand new bosch maf fitted .. new air filter .. 'n turbo vac filter
and all other engine systems a.ok

Possible. I am aware the FL1 does not like the heat and the performance is noticeable.
I am wondering if perhaps I dislodged a pipe when I replaced the track rod ends. I can't investigate until Sunday due to long shifts at work. Roll on retirement.

The FL was better today driving home from work. Not as it should be but definitely an improvement, so perhaps it is just the weather.
We shall see.

how's it running now ?

just wondered .. as mine were sloth-like under 2000rpm for a few days
tried a few remedies .. then .. found out i had the ron-box set up wrong
( with spindle missing .. there are numbers on the inner dial .. 0 thru 9
( whereas .. '0' on the dial = setting no.1 .. i.e. low/medium ..
( i'd set it to '0' thinking it were no.10 setting .. i.e. high/high
so .. corrected that by selecting dial no.9 ..

( i use the 3-way dash switch to choose a lower setting if wanted ..

am noting no.10 ron box setting .. as it has the strongest maf map of all the settings
now there's virtually no lag .. 'n plenty of response from rpm under 2k ..

if your pierburg maf still be fitted .. try ron-box setting '10' .. see if it helps ..
( if not .. could be a failing maf sensor )

Well, it has improved but there does still seem to be a bit of lag there.
I have not touched the ronbox for a very long time so doubt it is that, unless it is beginning to fail.

I am no mechanic, I get advice from this web site and by reading the Haynes manual but I do suspect it could be time to change the fuel filter under drivers side rear wheel arch.

It seems that when I take my foot off the pedal to change gear or whatever, the car slows down quite a bit and quickly.
My first thoughts were sticky brakes but I would have expected that to be picked up on its MOT and it passed that.

I am either getting voluntary redundancy or taking early retirement at the end of August, so I will offer the car for sale on here. It's only done 75k and has been very reliable in the 8 or so years I have had it.

I will only ask for the cost of 4 x new tyres for my wife's Clio. I want it to go to an enthusiast rather than just anybody. Money doesn't motivate me.
