On my D2 2003 auto Every now and then after starting the engine (hot or cold) as I pull away it is like it is in limp mode i can put the pedal to the floor and it makes no difference nothing and after about 10 to 15 seconds full power kicks in as if nothing was wrong.
Some days it doesn' happen at all, on cold mornings if I don't give the engine a few min to warm up it can do this which I can kinda maybe understand but this can happen after stopping for fuel or something with a hot or warm engine. My best guess is the xyz switch?
Anyone got any ideas what it can be.

What makes you think it’s the xyz switch? I always thought if it had caused any kind of limp mode the M&S lights would be on too

Because i couldn't think of anything else and it does exactly what it does in limp mode but yes the lights are not showing so maybe not.

Unplug it and drive it so for test, if it runs OK with it unplugged you need a new genuine one, simple as that ...btw the EGR is still there?
ERG I removed a couple of months ago.
This has been happening pretty much since I got it, I have done about 15k in 11 months in the landy, the problem happens so sporadicly I never know when I pull away if it will be ok or not, 99% of the time the vehcle runs fine, only ever happens on pull away.
I will unplug it tomorrow and see what happens.

This is why I prefer working on a Perkins engine, none of this computer malarky based sensor stuff, does my head in

The MAP/IAT sensor(not MAF) is the one in the inlet manifold abeam the dipstick, it used to be gunked by exhaust gasses from the EGR, give it a clean with egr cleaner as the small hole near the IAT probe to be free cos there's the pressure sensor

MAP MAFF IAT..... EGR Arrgghhh bloody eeak
Ok I will have a look tomorrow when I get a chance, egr cleaner, so is this just rebranded clutch and brake cleaner or wd40 or summink or a real product I need to get to clean this?

I removed the MAP sensor and cleaned with egr cleaner, it wasn' as gunk as I thought it would be, haven' had a chance to check the MAF one yet but can pick a new one up from lr trade which are 5 minutes from my boat (very handy)
One question though, the oem maf is about 85 quid and a non one is about 25, are the cheaper ones a false economy or just as good?
