On the 4.4 V8 Diesel Range Rover L405, the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is fitted because it is a requirement in the European market which uses Euro4 fuel, but here in Malaysia the diesel quality of Euro2M basically means that the DPF clogs up and the engine ends up running very very badly. I am not a tuning expert (by any means whatsoever) so I am looking for advice on how to remove the DPF and re-tune the engine ECU to run without it, thereby permitting a lower grade diesel fuel.
Land Rover manufactures the diesel L405 without the DPF for export, so customers buying from the official dealer don't have the problem - the problem occurs in the grey import market where pre-owned cars are imported and sold here.
Can anyone out there advise me on this?
