Odly developed an issue hoping for some insight
Rear o/s window drops when I select reverse wont come back up for 2 minutes
L322 2003 td6

Lightheartedly, that could help me with limo black tints on as it a real issue in the dark!
Seriously though, three things.
1. Does it come back up on it’s own or do you have to raise it by the button ?
2. Does it happen every time you select reverse?
3. Have you been doing any other repairs on the car before it started?
Tricky.

No repairs done recently

It will raise after 2 mins waiting etc

If I isolate rear windows it wont happen
But that leaves isolation switch illuminated when I remove key

If it goes back up on it’s own then it appears to be similar to the NS Door Mirror auto-drop on reverse command.
Isolation of the rear window being effective shows that the command to lower the window is the issue not the window mechanism.
It is spooky especially at this time of year but more likely to be caused by either control module failure or....damp! Can you get a diagnostic check to see if any codes are registered? Otherwise I would make sure all electronics are moisture free before spending any money. Others may think differently but that’s my starting point.
Tricky.

Does your 2003 have the auto dropping NS mirror? If so was it and does it now work correctly? It should drop to the floor and stay there all the time you have reverse selected.
Tricky.

Further thought on the mirror command, this function is switched on or off by the Left/Right mirror selection switch on the driver’s door. It is possible that either the switch is faulty or has been damaged by water and is passing current to the window. Worth a check.
Tricky.

Yes it has the mirror drop function
And I had previously same day played with mirror switches maybe it had been turned off prior to my purchase

However the mirror has damage
Power fold cogs also damaged
Replacement mirrors have been orderd
Awaiting arrival hopefully tomorrow

i had the same window dropping on mine stopped once i fitted a new battery
It’s scary how often we have the same pattern. It’s as though Land Rover grossly underestimated the power required to maintain stable electrical systems.
I had the whole brake lights on flashing dash lights etc on my previous Range and had several weeks of disconnecting the battery every night before normal service was resumed. Needless to say I refused to disconnect it again once I had a daily driving car. Surely there is a seriously real way to prevent this stupidity. I hope someone smarter than me can let us all into the secret.
Tricky.:)

Please let us know how you get on once the mirror is on and working.
