Evening all
trying to sort out a few niggles on the Range Rover now it’s been in daily use so there are a few new threads.
I have a vibration between 50 and 70 mph it seems to get better the faster you go. It seems worse under load but is still present on overrun.
At 50mph it only does it at about 1800rpm if I manually select 4th on the gearbox it goes.
I’ve had new tyres and had them balanced and it was like this before the tyre change.
I’m hoping you don’t tell me there’s an issue with the torque converter or fifth gear.
All suspension bushes and ball joints are new at the front and it has new pads and discs at the front with no seizing.
The vibration is mainly felt through the steering wheel but it can be felt through the seats in the whole car front and back.
The rubber donut in the propshaft looks ok with no cracking and the centre support bearing has slight movement. When I had my e46 bmw the support bearing had completely gone and the donut wasn’t much better but didn’t cause a vibration this bad.
it is not undriveable but very noticeable and very annoying.
