My TD6 has a clunk from the front end. It only happens when i have reversed, then stopped. Then drive off fowards and apply brakes. It only does it after going in reverse. Any thoughts?

Check the front diff splines, sound like they're about to start slipping. Go to a dealer and get the Q041 update done, it'll be done under warranty.

Hi guys, just read this one and have come across this problem in other vehicles and thought I would join and post a comment.

Check there's no movement in the Brake Callipers.
As you reverse, any movement in the brake calliper will allow it to rotate slightly and consequently when you travel forward the calliper will rotate back into it's original position, hence the clunk or possibly once you have re-applied the brakes.
If there is sufficient clearance between the guide pin/Guide pin slider (or missing guide pin slider) and calliper body this will allow movement in the calliper. Usually the calliper won't move by hand (as it's bolted pretty tight) but once the brakes are applied this will generate enough grip and force to move the calliper round to stop or 'clunk' against the calliper carrier.

Hope this is of some help!

Been out in car today and it appears its not only after reversing. It does it all the time. Could it be a suspension bush and if so how best is it to check??
