Hi all,

I'm a bit stuck with a problem. I have had the following 9f6 fuel pressure error and the Fuel Inject. System come up on the dash. It loses power at 3000 revs and is either slow to build to 4000 and gear change or it is just stuck at 3000 revs. I have heard that it could be the in tank pump, which I have changed now. I then thought it could be the filter which also did nothing. Finally I bought and changed the inline pump and the car started, drove it around and the problem was still there. I thought I would do a hard reset, unplugged the batter reconnected and the car is now cranking but will not start. No idea what is wrong, but I can hear the inline pump buzzing, but it seems to cut when I try to start the car. Any ideas on the loss of power and now the problem with it not starting? Thank you kindly in advance.

John

The lack of starting could be an immobilser issue. @holidaychicken has this at times on his V8 model when he disconnects the battery.

As for lack of revs, that fault code means little to me, what diagnostics are you rocking there?

But the HP pump has a pressure sensor in it so maybe start looking there too.

Thank you for you comment I shall try there tonight, I don't have any software, but have a friend with a Hawkeye, he also has the RSW solutions and I have a full readout from that but I am stuck thus far. @holidaychicken how do you get around the issue if it is the immobilizer, do you need specialist hardware/device?

Apologies I missed the tag
The allcomms will give you a fault as below if you are immobilised, it's a simple procedure to resync if you have testbook or a faultmate but allcomms cannot reprogram the link. There is other software that can do it but it tends to be the expensive types. i had to get landrover out to me twice with their T4 laptop and the first time i had my car taken on a trailer to the local main dealer which is an expensive hobby.

This is the faultmate error code

And this is the procedure for resyncing, its basically put the engine ecu into learn, send the signal from the immobiliser and then take the engine ecu out of learn.

It sounds to me that if you have fuelling issues then it wold be more likely that it is fuel related but post up the allcomms engine module fault codes and this will tell you

Thank you for the advise, it was the high pressure pump that was causing the non-start. I have changed the intank and inline for good measure. Still having issued with the car at around 3000 revs intermittently, it resets when turning the car on and off.

Hooked up to allcomms and got the following @Saint.V8 perhaps you may have an idea (pre change of fuel pumps):
Air Flow Sensor HFM (I will clean MAF i think)
Exhaust Gas Recirculation
Exhaust Gas Recirculation 2
Rail Pressure Regulation (leaky injector found and fixed)
Glow Plug System (start fine after injector and pumps)

From hawkeye (9f6 fuel pressure monitoring whilst starting) (presume fuel pump change fixed)
DTC: 4 dosing pump. open curcuit or short curcuit to +12v (also think this is an old error and may be rectified)

Again I have changed all three pumps and they are reading correct.

Now my only problem is the loss of power intermittently at 30mph and 50mph.

Any idea would help!!

Thank you

And you have checked all the turbo pipes for firm attachment, no collapsing, checked and cleaned the intercooler....??

The TD6 is known for blowing the turbo hose off the turbo....
