Faults in log are:
Anti lock brake system. Air suspension system can error
Air suspension. Articulation validity fault
Instrument panel module. Ebv function fault
Every time cleared eas works the drive off eas inactive
Eas Ecu is dry and connections looks good
All height sensors fitted right
When plugged in to the icarsoft i930 its says left front voltage 54volts
And all other 2 ish volts? That is new sensor, but it said the same before I changed it.
3 new height sensors ( have you ever heard of new one being faulty)
1 height sensor looks new but don't no how old.
How can you check a sensor is working correctly
I don't understand how it can go up in to off road down to access back to std
And 2/3minutes driving lights go out and eas inactive back on.
When calibration how close to std settings do you need to be?
When doing calibration and I try and lift 1corner 10mm and leave others close session, lift to full height let it set back down and every measurement is different.
Is that normal.
Cheers
Steve
Hi Steve, i have almost exactly the same fault on my 2003 Range Rover and just wondered if you ever got to the bottom of the problem..?
Just to re iterate .
All warning lights out and looking normal can sit on the drive all day without the 3 amigos coming up but as soon as i go out 200yds down the road , steering inactive comes up and shortly thereafter i get all three lights up..!
The front left height sensor is typically around 50 +/- volts whilst all the rest are in and around 2volts..
ive had the sensor off and replaced it but exactly the same with new sensor.
so, have checked the sensor plugged in, but with arm free in to see if i could at any point get a lower voltage reading . Short answer NO..the lowest was down to around 9 v adsolute minimun and this in a position that would not be viable which ever way around i fit the sensor..
firstly i thought it could be a ‘ Floating Earth’ causing the huge increase in volts so added an earth but no difference at all,
then i moved on to The ECU itself ...
have ordered a second hand unit and just waiting for this at the moment but the more i think the less likely this seems.
the ECU itself assigns and uses a digital equiv to the feedback volts reading it gets back from each height sensor
so i then thought that perhaps the height calibrations are so far out that the ECU is reading / reconciling this wrongly ..
But when i unplug the sensor completely the volts reading is down to .12 volts
So whatever it is its between the ECU and sensor..
This morning ive had the All comms out and re calibrated a couple of times. but still the left front sensor is 50 + volts.. i am fairly calm usually but this thing is driving me crazy..
I have the full All Comms 3 and Carsoft i 930,
i was also originally told by storey that it could be the steering sensor, so changed it but no luck.

Steve or anyone please do get back you me with what yours turned out to be please!
although by now you have probably sold the car and got something that at least gives you a chance of being able to reason things out..,

Best wishes, Steve .( Me)

Hi Guys I got a bit of a problem my 2004 Rangie has developed a ride height issue stating air suspension inactive, I can reset it and it last about 2-3 days at various speeds before coming back on..the n/s rear and front seem to have dropped quite a bit ..the code is 64 articulation validity fault and the readings are n/s front showing 47.2v and all the other positions are showing between 2.10-3.43v all of the cabling to the ride height sensors look ok but am I right to think it would be the n/s front because of the voltages or is this a spurious fault ?

Hi Garwillis, Did you ever get to the bottom of why LF sensor was teading so high..
i have exactly the same issue.. id be really grateful for any response .. Thanks Steve (RR L322 2003)

Hi Steve no sorry didn't get to the bottom of it .. just seemed to be the norm on what others were saying..

Hey thanks for your response, does this men that you still had
the inactive Suspension faults coming up followed by the ABS ?

Steve

No it didn'..I had a full calibration done and then it was fine ..for about 6 months then it was the front O/S wheel sensor playing up which was bringing on the same fault lights but masked the fact it was the sensor not the levelling valves or the ride heights

Wow thats interesting..
have you ever since checked the F L height sensor volts to see if they are still up in the 40v s?
or did these droped once they calibrated the suspension?

Thanks for your insights it really helps..
Steve

Oh maybe my fault is elsewhere as yours was..,
do you think i should get a RR garage to calibrate it..I have the All comms package but when i try to calibrate it doesnt seem to make much difference..
If the RR can operate with the high FL volts so high and without causing the inactive Sus notice., plus and the other lights
perhaps im chasing the wrong tthread..

Thanks

Yea if get a Rangy specialist as opposed to RR ..that way you can ask them to check it out to read the other codes which may better point to the fault your experiencing. If the descrepancie between the levels are too much this will also bring the fault lights up and render the air suspension inactive.

Hi Steve, it’s almost 2 years since my last posting!
I still have my RR L322 and still have the near side left sensor
Causing the Air Sus inactive Dashboard notification...and I have just put up with it..
In spite of this the car drives fine, height levels all look ok etc. But now I am thinking of selling the car but of course
Who would buy with this kind of issue / worry..
I just wondered if, in the passing 2 years any other member has had this fault and managed to resolve it..?

I guess my next step is to visit an independent RR garage and hope that they won’t simply replace everything
That I have previously replaced en route to a fix .

How strange I have the exact same issue... 2004 L322 3.0 Td6 great truck but now having to play this silly game. Did you find the problem.
Maybe its a wiring fault? Left nearside front 51.7 volts????? I have plugged in a couple of replacement sensors (used) they are throwing 50 to 69 volts ????
put the original back & its dropped to 30 volts so im guessing it could be a pin issue in the connector or damaged wiring. I am going to investigate a bt more hopefully tomorrow & let you know my findings. I use Autel MaxiDas 708 because it can do calibration as well.

Paul.

Here's an update for those who are suffering with the same symptoms. I removed the nearside front connection serveral times cleaned & replaced drove it & had all the dash looking like Christmas... HVAC failed Air Sus failed ABS etc...
plugged in my AUTEL MK808 & cleared faults, now this machine wont Calibrate pre 2006 models but will analyse so, live AS readings were all active?? heights were there & more importantly all voltages were below 5 Volts YeY!!!!!
Got to flat ground & plugged in my other AUTEL MS708 which will calibrate 2002 onwards. Once into the Calibration process the car set itself at a level 800mm all round Yes all 4 corners were at 800 from bottom of wheel rim to edge of wheel arch.
I've entered 830mm in all 4 boxes and the car has adjusted and sat at a beautiful height at normal ride & works through the settings as it should .
So far very happy :)
