Hi,
I have the 4.4 V8 BMW engine and need some advice if at all possible.

Car was pretty much drives faultless other that a clunk when on full right lock (not concerned with that as will be straightforward). What is happening now unfortunately at the end of some shorter journeys I'm getting the dreaded trans failsafe message and the car needs to be switched off for a small period of time to clear it. A long run on the M6 and the message will not come on, any ideas?

I'm going to order some serviceable parts and wonder if I should do anything over and above the following -

Gearbox filter (LPW000030)
O-ring (TYX000100)
Sump gasket (TYF000110)
Is LT71141 the correct fluid?
Radiator
Oil Cooler / Pipes?

Checking under the car it appears I've a small coolant &/or oil leak.....

I would get yourself some Range Rover specific diagnostics first, my preference is the allcomms. That warning could be caused by a dozen things including as already mentioned by a dodgy battery or alternator

Only get the genuine filter either from above, island 4x4 may do it or main dealer parts department but I wouldn't be spending out on anything before diagnostics
Saintv8 has a 'how to' in the tech section at the top of this forum that should tell you all you need to know
