Hi,

Any ideas my rear lower tailgate wont lock unless I lift the plastic clips on either side. I have read the other threads and it seems they just need to be removed and cleaned, can I get them off just by removing he two torque bolts from the sides? Seems weird they both have stopped working at the same time unless I just never noticed before if only one wasn't working. The main switch and motor seems to be working fine.

Many Thnx,
Kev...

I Yes you can. Check also the two catches that come down over the bolts. A little lubrication should see these working properly again. Do this bit first before taking off the bolts.

When I first got mine the lower tailgate just used to shut and open and wouldn't stay on the catch. It was just the mechanism that operates by a cable that was a bit gummed up on both sides. There is like a latch that flips over when it's shut.
I stripped my apart which was easy as long as you note where which bits go and I just cleaned and lubricated it and it's been fine since.
Hope that helps

Had the same problem with mine. Sprayed with WD40 to clean latches, then re-greased the latches, problem solved.
