hi any one know where the rpm signal wire is on a 2002 4.4 v8 range rover i think its connected to the ecu in the engine bay
yes its for a lpg conversion can you help thanks for replyThe Rpm is worked out by the Engine ecu and then transmitted over the can network to the instrument cluster, transmission ect.
Have you got a fault or are you playing with LPG
hi cheers i have fitted a dream 21 kit i have the coil trigger wire but i have been told that this can cut off some times thats why i would rather fit direct to ecu thanksWhat kit are you fitting because you can normally take a feed off the trigger side of a coil and then use the settings in the gas software to tell it what rpm source you are using.
thanks for that information have you fitted them to the coil wires do you know which one you connected to as i have found the white wire gives rpm signal but again been told the white is 12vThey are telling pork pies. It only cuts the injectors on over run not the coils. The coil connection works perfect. With your dream kit you dont need a multiplier either the software does it for you.
thanks againThats right the white wires are the trigger wires from coil 1 and coil 5 both on pin 1 of each coil. You can use either. When probed with a voltmeter they will show 12 volts but if you switch to Hertz or Rmp you will then get a sensible trigger reading.
