Must go diesel.....had a petrol/lpg Jeep grand cheerokee when lpg was 22p a litre wasnt bad then but what is it now 75p...80p...dont know if its worth it..

Diesel every time. Don't forget with LPG you cannot use the channel tunnel and many tunnels in Europe if you travel.

as in header
witchone is more recomended

For ease of use and availability of fuel go for derv. For driving enjoyment go V8/LPG. Whilst the TD6 is an improvement over the 2.5 in the P38 it still shows BMW's lack of investment in Landrover and its no ball of fire.

Until I can justify the cost of a TDV8 (which is a cracking engine) I'll be sticking with the V8's.

Isn't the TD6 the Ford/PSA engine also found in Jag, Citroen C6, etc? Although bettered by the newer 3.0, the 2.7 is hardly a bad engine... and certainly a big step on from the 2.5BMW unit which is very basic by comparison....

Cheers,

The early L322 diesels were fitted with the BMW straight six which I think puts out about 175bhp, which is never going to shift a motor the size and weight of a small house.

The TDV6 is a Jag/Ford engine and came along in the new Disco and is a fine engine (In an S Type Jag) but still struggles to shift the bulk of a Disco. But in the TDV8 Landrover has finally found a diesel engine that can warrant the 50K+ price tag.

thank for all replies
i know diesel is cheaper to run etc etc
already own p38 v8 and fall in love in petrol v8
power sound etc etc
but money wise lpg cost me same as diesel on previous car
can spend about 10000 - 15000 on car depend condition
missues will get mad anyway

I think my td6 shifts pretty well ! Not bad for a heavy lump of a car !
At traffic lights it ****es over other cars when pulling away ! Lol

Thanks for the clarification, never realised the L322 had that engine
