Hi.

Went to my vehicle last night and put the key in the ignition. (It's an 02 DHSE)
All the lights come on as normal on the dash but when I turn the key to start the engine everything goes blank and not a sound from anywhere.

Tried a couple of times before giving up and taking my other vehicle.

Gone back to it today, the central locking/remote/door lights etc all work fine but the key wont even make the first turn in the ignition like it did last night.

All advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Sorted.

Something must have been left on and was draining the battery very slowly over the last couple of weeks (and I've not been using it much). A jump start and a battery check later courtest of the AA and all is good.

Well apart from the Air con fan not blowing... but that's for another thread.

Cheers :)

sounds like ignition barrel could be shot, give it a short burst of wd40.
might help free it up.

Thanks for the advice guys, but as you can see from the thread it was sorted.
The ignition barrel was locked because of the immobiliser/electrics not working due to the battery being dead...

A jump start sorted it all.

Heater control module was common for causing battery drains, cheap to fix and need girls hands to get up in the footwell to change. Lots of threads on here reference this
