Hi guys I have a dilemma ...
I have an 05 rr vogue and it will not let the key turn in ignition I have ordered a new ignition barrel as my independent mechanic has told me mine is shot.... I have a 3 week wait on new ignition being cut to my key !!!! Can anyone help as at home for 3 weeks without a vehicle over summer hols with kids is going to be a nightmare

The system locks the barrel if a key isnt inserted after about a minute of inactivity following the car being unlocked and a door being opened.

To unlock the berrel, put the key in an turn about 20deg then back again you should then hear the solenoid click unlocking the barrel. You can then turn the ignition on.

If it is still locked solid even after that....or immediatly after unlocking the car and getting in......the only option is to replace the barrel.

I know of no work around to get it to work as it is part of the security system.

If you
Screwdriver?

I think you could search in RAVE for how to take to central console apart to get to the barrel and bypass the barrel and as long the key is in close proximity the immo will be happy too and your car will start.
find a work around can you send it to the poster in a private message so we dont publicise how to bypass vehicle security. Ta.
