not on the early l322 its on all the time unless its in AustraliaCig socket is off with the ignition off.
Unless someone replaced the link in the rear fusebox with a relay.not on the early l322 its on all the time unless its in Australia

Oh dear, low voltages and a dodgy radio station…plus 1 as also fitted some Vdc gauges , RH side , fitted a dual one in my case having 2 x batteries, as I had a spare also fitted an inside air cabin temp gauge

Mine is proof in point of that. Also right that some faults take suspension out, when I had a faulty abs sensor it took ABS system, HDC (that uses abs so understandable) suspension locked in place, I’d also dropped a bit but not to bump stops but when stopped and restarted the fault cleared for a few hundred yards and suspension would then rise as normal.
It’s one of them when half a dozen things go out you think “my cars just died” when really it could be 1 faulty sensor.
Surprising what happens, probably because all systems talk to each other so dodgy signal from one sends the rest into meltdown. Goes to show though why sometimes it looks bad but really dodgy sensor or like you say switch.Mine is proof in point of that.
I had
"suspension lowered"
"hdc inactive"
"dsc inactive"
"park brake fault"
"transmission fault"
All due to a slightly faulty brake light switch
That's exactly what was causing mine. The ecu one seemed to occasionally delay changing states but the brake light one was instant. If there's more than a few milliseconds between it throws this fault (for future searchers)Also if I recall the brake switches have two contacts, one direct to brake lights and another for ecus, my x5 had bad switch and even though brake lights worked the ecu contact had failed.
