I’ve got a problem with the rear right height sensor on 2011 4.4 tdv8, the Hawkeye I’ve got says no out put from sensor, so the back end drops when not in use, it comes up when you start it up, I tried a secondhand sensor that I had I plugged it in so I could move it to see an output on computer but still nothing, I’ve just fitted new sensor and still no out put, warning on dash suspension fault in yellow comes on as soon as ignition on, I can not find wiring diagram or Ecu location, the sensors got 6 wires on it

You sure your Hawkeye is giving you valid information?
If it comes up to height when the car is started, I would hazard a guess that the sensor is working and that the back end is dropping when not in use due to a leaking airspring.

I think it’s reading the sensors ok because it gives readings for all 4, it drops after 2 hrs of sitting when it self levels, even if the cars level the fault is always on dash, no signs of any leaks with soapy water, was trying to find a wiring diagram and ecu location but struggling

I will look see what I have in the morning. I have them.
but would as @Datatek said as to if your Hawkeye can read the 2011 model.

If you get a warning on startup on the dash you really need to read faults, to find out.

Fault comes up c1a06, on live data it shows voltage into all sensors 4.9v and outputs approx 2.7 on all but no out put on rear right, I was going to meter the wires from the sensor to the ecu

Ok so I got bored of telly ;) .

See bedtime reading:).

As you will see C1A06 is not a full code so many to check:).

Had a look after work, I’ve got no connection between height sensor and ecu on the +5v wire other 2 wires read ok, my problem now is there is only 2v coming out of the ecu and not the 5 it needs, will carry on looking tomorrow

may help

Hi just a quick update, today I’ve been looking into the fault, the 5 volt wire from ecu to rear right height sensor was rotted through, if it helps anyone, the 6 wires from the ecu in the right rear of the car go into the main harness that runs across the top of the wheel arch and go out through the cover on top of the fuel pump cover, if you disconnect the height sensor wire and remove the plastic clip you can with the tank cover off pull the wires up inside the car, this made life easier putting the meter between all the wires, my 5 volt wire had got the insulation broken and the copper wire was green but rotted all the way through, this was about 6 inches down from the top of the fuel tank, I’ve replaced the wire and now all is good, thanks for all the help and wiring diagram’s, cheers Phil

Nice one, thanks for reporting the result
