Why do you want a gearbox ecu upgrade?
S/he might not want an upgrade. They might just be curious about is it done. Or could be looking to start a business doing it. That's the problem with one line posts, with no proper information in them.
It's like a stranger walking into a clubhouse, asking does anyone do ecu upgrades, then walking out again. All that' s left is a poor impression and an ambiguous question.

That was kind of my objective, to show that one line posts aren't very useful.

Why not just say that? Oh and my post is slightly edited
Perhaps I could have said that. I am genuinely interested in why they want to know.
My immediate suspicion is that someone has told them that an ecu upgrade will fix their 'box made from chocolate so based on expected reply I was going to tell them what I'd read on here about the td6 gearbox.
However, I'm not going to spend time doing that if I don't know why they want to know.

If you knew the answer, the question would be obvious.

He could of just phoned the forum and asked for Mike Hunt!!

That's how I read it during my very brief scan.

If RRPhil indicates it's a good mod then it can't be all bad, he's the numero uno gearbox guru on here going by the name of @Bemble.
Your welcome.;)

Sorry HC, my bad tonight......

This is a thread for Gearbox Remaps, or rather a TC remap,
not dealer adaptions or latest software.

Did I read correctly elsewhere, you've gone an got a TD6?

You turncoat you, lol

No, i have being working on td6 to help out a mate and it is a tractor engine.
And to get it right he is asking for an ECU upgrade which if he is running the original software from 2003 he may be able to get an upgrade from the dealer although I probably wouldn't risk any sort of upgrade in case it went to ****e.
You can turn the L322 into an X5 by standard remapping but if i wanted an x5 i would have bought one.
The JLR vehicles lend themselves much more to updating than the older BMW's of the TD6 M57 and 4.4 M62.
There are mods out there if people want to do them to engine and gearbox and why not but the only problem is that generally when the ECU has been upgraded it might not be able to be returned to it's original map if things don't work out.

I don't know how to reply to you at present, what with dat dealer sh!t you r espousing (< hehe, thatz a word, innnit)
