The ongoing saga of this car, since I bought it in mid September there's been an occasion; clonk when changing up/down at about 50mph. Today going up Detling Hill in busy traffic going up at about 50, it kicked down, clonk, changed op again, revs increased, then changed down again. It done this a couple of times then at the top of the hill was doing abut 3000 rpm at 50mph gearbox failure warning came on. It's a very busy rod and the car was still going to I carried on to my destinatiom at Sittingbourne. It seemed to be stuck in 3 or 4 as it would ull away from trffic lights and do 50 in the same gear. At my destination, I switched it off and on a couple of times, tried reverse ok, forward ok, manual mode 1,2,3 ok. Drove it back home no problems! Any ideas? Low oil? Sticky valves? No warning light on now.

A visit to terrain at Bexhill proved enlightening shall we say. the Autologic Quick Test Repot came up with 3 pages of defects, the most significant was in the transmission control model:
U0128-87 lost communication with parking brake control module ( a recurring theme)
P0730-00-Incorrect gear ratio
P0735-00-Gear 5 incorrect ratio.
In simple English, it's f****ed!
It seems the missing parking brake control module is causing a lot of seemingly unrelated problems too, 9 items in all.
Methinks a strongly worded email to the dealer is in order.

I wonder what the jury will make of this lot! Autologic report.

Yes, I was quite surprised. He may even get a newr or lowere milage car. He obviously earned well from selling my 2010 sport that went in PX and the value of my 08 Vogue with the fkt engine.

This matter has not ended well as I may have mentioned elsewhere on here. That car i still here, the dealer hs been blocking calls and it was only yesterday I managed to contact him. I made him aware that Trading Standards are now involved ane has again offered to collect the car and give m a refund. I told him what I want by Friday. He seemed keen not to get Trading standards involved.

Howvere, in the meantime again as mentioned elsewhere on here I found a 60 reg Vogue with the 4.4 engine at a good price with a dealer in Essex. Too good to be true, possibly. I took it to Terrain in Bexhill and they found oil leaking into the cooling system, the oil cooler needs to be replaced. That's quite a major and expensive item. There's lso the usual wear and tear items to be expected on a 14 year old car with 137000 on the clock, suspension arms and bushes worn, brake discs to be replaced and a bit of rust under the cills oh and some corrosion on brake pipes.. Luckily nothing else major showed up. The oil cooler will cost about £2k to do inc vat, the suspension and brakes about thee same amount, but I can get a year's worth of sue before they become a problem. I've suggested tot eh seller that he foots the bill for yhe pol cooler or take the car back, which is a shame because it is well-presented and drives nicely.
