Hi all. It's a 3.6tdv8 vogue. 2008. Did a short trip of twenty miles, parked up switched engine off. Went back to it the doors wouldn't open and absolutely no power on dash or starter at all. I haven't been able to look at it yet just wondering if anyone else has had same problem Thanks

Ignition switch on the steering lock fails on these, there's a work-round on them if yo do a bit of searching on here. Maybe the key battery? Try that first!

If the doors would not unlock, sounds like a dead battery, batteries can fail instantly, it's happened to me.
Alternator failure can also flatten the battery as can a number of other things.

How many short trips do you do? How often does she get a proper run? I deal with this on a bi-yearly basis due to either not using her or using her for short hops. These vehicles are high maintenance and I don't just mean the upkeep. They are like an attention seeking girlfriend, if you don't spend quality time, taking them out and about, they will throw a hissy fit. Mine likes to remove any power steering, air suspension, electric windows, and sometimes even the stereo, from use. Oh and she even removed my windscreen wiper privileges one time, when it was p'ing down. After 10 minutes or so she gives me back each one slowly but it is her reminder to pay attention to her, as she is not there to be 'used and abused' when I feel like it 🤣🚘
And it's all down to the battery.

Turns out it was a loose battery terminal though I'm not sure why the OP told me instead of saying so here
