i had a little paddling pool in my spare wheel well last week. luckily theres a handy rubber grommet in the floor that doubles up as a drain hole for now ! lol :D

i cant find out where the bloody water is coming in though ?

think the left window is the usual culprit ? any ideas saint ? :)

I availed myself of that handy little grommet a few months ago. It's all well and good the staff filling the pool but as standards have dropped and one just cannot get the staff these days, they have no idea about draining it! :D

Hi Datatek, seeming font of all knowledge ;) Don't suppose you could post a pic of said plastic protection and location. At this moment I don't have a swimming pool for my rear quarter and would like to keep it that way but not sure where to cover. :D

Sorry, not my car (thank goodness) so no photo, but the plastic is just to stop water falling from above onto the electronics boxes. A Tesco bag and some gaffer tape will do the job. It will not stop water ingress from condensation if you have water in the bottom of the compartment or wheel well. By the way, the water also causes the compressor connector to corrode:eek:
Not found where the water is coming in, three possibilities, window, sunroof drains or roof rack mount.

Ah ok. I'll adapt it when the sky stops p'ing on me :) The water which was in the wheel well was resolved by the removal of the grommet. Everything oddly enough is now dry and has stayed that way, even in the constant wetness that is presently Scotland. So glad I live on a hill :D

That's pretty much all I remember about Scotland, rain, midges and heavy drinkers:rolleyes:
Because the modules are dry on the outside does not mean they are dry on the inside or that the connectors are dry I'm afraid.

in my case the ingress is 100% rear quater light, if your nav is wet this will be the case, if its dsp or radio it could be any one of the 3 suspects

Hi Paul,
thanks for the info. In my case all units where wet with water coming from 'above'.
How can I tell the ingress is rear quarter light? I tried to remove the 'shelf' inside underneath the side rear windows but couldn't manage. Could you please give me some info how to remove that shelf? I concluded the sunroof drain blockage is the cause because since the discovery of the blockage I've taped the sunroof and after that there hasn't been any ingress but I would like to be able to have a look at that rear quarter light so I can be 100% sure it isn't asecond cause.................
Thanks in advance,
Dick Bal
