Hi folks,
Finally got the time to pursue the misfire on the RR Sport 4.2 S/C
I was pursuing what I thought was an injector problem but on removing the S/C - taking of the throttle body lower elbow was a B**tard!
I found that some fool and actually trapped the rubber hose that links the two fuel rails under the supercharger and crushed it.
A assume some fuel must have got through but the pipe is hugely mangled!
I will take the rail and injectors off as I've got so far and I test the injectors using the mark 1 eyeball spray pattern test..
But more seriously is finding a replacement for the crushed rubber hose that links the rails. I've looked on a few sites including the LR classic parts one and the rubber pipe is never sold separately its only with both rails and injectors attached for £1300+!!!
As you can probably see its kind of U-shaped as it runs out of one rail down under the S/C and back out and into the second.
Now presumably the rubber pipe *could" be replaced but given it's shape I'm at a bit of a loss - There is of course a pair of rails on ebay - that some one has cut the rubber pipe to sell them separately otherwise I may have grabbed that.
So does anyone know if I might be able to find the rubber pipe separately? ...and If I do what the prescribed attachment method might be - it looks to be push/shrunk fit
or any other ideas?
