being out looking about the car today and found that my 2 intake hose to and from intercooler are not in the best of condition so im looking at silicone

my main question is the Top hose is not round on the inlet manifold its oval and the widest part is 68mm

i no there isnt kits for them but i have seen someone on here with the universal pipes and im loking for a bit of info as i dnt wnt to waste money i dnt have on wrong pipes

Which hoses are these (sorry not familiar with the layout of the L series)

Reason i ask, is i may be making some stainless hoses for a member on another forum, but i think its the one under the engine with about 5 bends in it, not the ones you're on about...

i no a new rubber hose is cheaper but also not as good

Hi matt, Im on a similar train of thought, only im gunna start looking round scrap yards for as large a intercooler as I can find to fit to my L series hippo so I will be looking for pattern type intercooler pipes. Larger intercooler = more power its really that simple. So if you or anyone else already know of a suitable one that fits.... just gimme make model n year of motor to seek out in scrapyards, or maybe a well priced universal new one. Also im now gunna cut out my back box so the whole exhaust is straight thro.

Ive started down the tuning route already. Ive decatted my exhaust and also blanked the egr. This made it smoother and the turbo spins up earlier and faster but mainly felt more tourqey. Fitted a conical cone type k and n airfilter which made a little induction roar and seemed to clean up the exhausts visible smoke a bit. Then at this point I began running on bio-diesel and that cleared up all exhaust smoke and made the motor run really really quietly and the more time moves on the better it seems to like it and the better it runs.

O I never thought of a new cooler might make it easier to sort pipes.

I've done all what you have to my l series minus the bio fuel as noone in my town seem to sell it.

where r u from matt ? (chesterfield/Sheffield here). Big as you can make fit intercooler behind front bumper piped up will give good power increases......just need to suss out if I can find one off something else to fit that's big !
