Hi all,

I'm planning an engine overhaul on my Kv6 for the future and am compiling a list of parts.

Exhaust and intake valve guides i plan to renew. The parts catalogue lists 2 different valve guides, a plain one and a grooved/stepped one. Are they interchangeable meaning that either will fit? Or will my cylinder head and valve mean only either the plain one fits or the grooved one?

Secondly, the crankshaft bearings. I notice the half main bearings are of 2 types, plain and grooved, then each are colour coded. Which one would be mine if anyone here remembers out of experience on this engine?

Also the big end bearings, all are colour coded, how would you know which ones?

Would love to order the parts before I start the job (so haven't taken it apart yet) as I plan to remove the engine then transport it to an engine reconditioning guru to entrust the task to.

It's a KV6 Freelander 2001.

Thanks all.

all good, just found out more info from my engine reconditioner guru - it seems whatever they ground the crank shaft to is what I will order bearings wise.
