I do nearly all my Freebie driving in France so I was wondering if it was possible to just swap out the facia to a nice KPH one? I know the regular dash has kph markings on it but I need glasses to drive and focussing on those small numbers is getting a bit hard on the old eyes...

Surely you don't need to be able to read the markings to know where they are?

Speedo on me Series is about 12% out but I know 60 reads as 53mph and I dont need to count the little dots after 50 to know where that is.

Just a thought though.......haven't a clue if you can swap it out or no

If you are talking about just swapping the actual dial on your existing speedo, its probably physically possible, but I would have a doubt as to whether it would be accurate at all, as the movement of the needle may not correspond to the KPH scale unless it happens to be laid out in exactly the same layout as the small kph scale on your existing dials - which I doubt as most French cars have the speedo arranged to that the common speeds are laid out at prominent locations ie 90kph at the top.

You would be better off swapping the whole instrument pack over, but you would then be counting distance in kilometers too, and since it would no longer have a MPH scale, you would have the opposite problem when in UK.

The best solution is to just remember that 30 = 50, 45 = 70, 55 = 90 and 70 = 110. Its not rocket science.

Get a Scanguage 2, plug it into the OBD port and then select what you want to display. It will do both mph & kms. I use mine all the time, as I can't see over 50mph as the top of the steering wheel is in the way!

I've seen a few threads where people have modded the scanguage into their clock surround. I was looking for an excuse to get one, so this seals the deal.

Thanks everyone for your input.
