Hi All
i have just started to hear a Knocking noise on the passengers side of the disco, anyone got any ideas?
i have changed the Anti roll bar rubbers and drop links? still the same?

If it's coming from the rear of the vehicle it's likely to be the rubber bushes in the Watts linkage.

Vote for the Watts linkage as well.

Had the same problem, but it wasn't the ARB bushes or drop links as I had
just replaced my leaking ACE system for Standard Anti Roll Bars

and the noise was still there

Replaced my rear Dampers as they were 12 years old and no harm done replacing and a lot cheaper that Watts Linkage Bushes

Noise still there

Bushes bought last week and doing the job this week.

Lie under the back of your disco and have someone rock the vehicle back and forth using the gutter rails, you should see movement in the Watts Linkage confirming if this is the problem

Great thanks Guys
i though that might have been the problem
was hoping it was a cheaper fix?
but oh well under the car the weekend we go
i'll let you all know if it stops the noise

Hi Guys , changed the Watts Linkage bushes the weekend and Guess what? the Noise is still there
back to the drawing board

Not so good, I did mine on Thursday and cured the problem, I take it you didn't tighten all the nuts until the full weight of the vehicle was on the ground and if fitted with Air suspension, you started the engine and allowed to settle to height first.

yes mate did that, i have changed the anti roll bar rubbers and i'm thinking of doing the bushes on the shocks next?
then i'll look and the radius arm bushes if it still there

I did my shocks the week before as the originals were stills on after 12 years.
Terrafirma standard ones for £56.
I also noticed that both my bump stops had fallen off, so replaced them (£6) as well

Plan on doing the Radius arm bushes next

i think i might just do the shocks then instead of the rubbers,
i have the radius bushes sat on the shelf in the shed, looks like a big job so looking for the easy jobs first.... its going to end up being them lol i know it is

The radius bushes when I did em weren't THAT bad, but the pain was cutting off the bolts with the angle grinder (seized solid).

ok guys got a new one , i have changed the shocks tonight and the knocking noise is still there? i'm at a dead end, looked at the radius arms they didn't look to bad? any ideas?

Yer most recent date int still tied up in the back is she?

Easy enough mistake to make.......

the knocking noise is from under the car ..... but if i tied the misses up and shoving her in the back might solve a hole heap of other problems lol

Have a check of the rear wing steady thingys ...

a bracket from the wing, sometimes has the mud flap bolted to part of it...

it can corrode through - and rattle like fook ... it's a bugger to track down
