Hello everyone

here she is as I got her

first job was sort out the rusty bits so I drilled out the rivets and spot welds and stripped the triangular panels back to see the extent of the rust
which turned out to be pretty bad!
I cut away the rust and replaced it all with new

the rear crossmember assembly was also shot so I removed that too

I made a new crossmember assembly and bolted it in,
it all looks a bit scabby underneath which got me thinking a more drastic job could be on the cards.....

so that was one job out of the way, but I realised there was a lot more to do if I wanted to keep the landie for myself
I just knew I wouldn't be happy with a scruffy chassis and rough looking body underneath

but before I tackled anything else I had a 300 tdi engine sat in my workshop and it was getting in the way !

there was only one place for it to go......

so with the engine running smoothly and after a few weeks of running I decided to take the plunge
and sort out the corrosion on the chassis

spent an afternoon splitting the chassis from the body,
it wasn't too hard to be honest I had to cut a few bolts here and there,
generally went quite well but the more I saw of it made me think I had done the right thing as it was
looking pretty scabby!
