Evening all, Tought Id make a bit of a project tread to show off my Landy:D

So £1000 of hard earned 21st birthday money got me a 1986 110 van in need of tlc, the idea being to have some fun using it as my daily and giving me chance to give my Mini its much needed rebuild... Guess I didnt really think that through well as im now repairing the landy while still using a Mini that deffinatly will not pass its next Mot:doh:

meanwhile...PICTURES! because everybody loves piccys

Its a bit of a change from the Mini but Im lovin it!

The rear Cross member needed replacing along with some patchwork here and there

After spending the long weekend welding it quickly turned into a case of every one bit you fix reveals another 10 to do! Either way its nearly solid but one bit has left me stumped.

Does anybody know if you can buy a replacement for the cross member that the fuel tank mounts to? (for a 110 N/A diesel) Its the one that goes across just before the rear spring mounts.

If I cant get one will a lump of ordinary box section do as a replacement?

Its fairly rotten on both ends and patching is really a last resort.

Ill be updating as the work rolls on! :D

Good luck with the rebuild - What exactly do you have planned for the rebuild? Or is it more of a tidy up?

I suppose its more of a tidy up than a rebuild, The plan being to get it on the road and then have it as a rolling project and add every metal attachment possible.

good luck mate nice 110, i likes my landy's like i likes my wimmin, big, dirty, and easy to strip.:D

nice to see someone who can use a arc welder:cool:
I could make you intermediate x member if you gave me sizes

Bugger, if i wasnt away next week id take you up on this but daddy is getting impatient and wants to finnish the welding asap :( so ill probably just be buying some box section to fit.

In other news- Because british summer is in full swing work on the landy is going a lot slower than id like, i.e. not at all. The weekend will probably be a story of replacing the rear trailing arm bushes and minor cosmetic tidyings. IF the weather improves

Tell me about it, i've got a ton of jobs lined up but can't do many of them because of weather!

Landy looks good though, sure you'll have plenty of fun with it!
