Yer need ter get looking in, under and around the seats. Also move them forwards/backwards. The air intake for the blower may be under the seats anorl. It could get int that pipe. The key could get under the plastic covering things like the seat rails so poke yer fingers int all the gaps. But not while the seat is moving. If the spare wheel goes int boot yer need it out and look round in there. Behind carpet trim at the sides that removes.

Yep, empty the car completely, take absolutely everything out of it that'll come out and move it all a long way away. Then try it, if it still starts, look into and around all parts of the seats, between the back and the squab particularly, (I once lost a pair of sunglasses between the seat and either the centre tunnel or the ouside side of the car), take all carpets up, look behind all panels but most importantly, could it have fallen down the air outlets to the windscreen? Or anywhere else around the base of the windscreen? If you always take a wallet or bag into the car, leave it behind. Get into the car in just your shorts if necessary! Have you had kids in the car? They have a bad habit of putting things in silly places. Offer them a huge reward for "finding" it!
