Have replied to Dan so hopefully we can get his fob back up to scratch.

One thing above anything else to ask is never, ever use WD40 on any fob. In all cases, microwitches are not failing to work because they require lubrication, they are failing because they are physically degraded or have cracked solder joints. From someone who repairs quite a few fobs, finding one swimming in WD40 is only second in the infuriation stakes to finding one where the owner has superglued the switches back on !
 
Hello all. I just thought I would provide a quick update on my keyfob issue.
I sent the fob away to FOBFIX for repair. My need was for a minimalist repair as my FOB was in good cosmetic nick.
They actually offer new external cases as well, but thankfully I didn't need one.
Well blow me down with a feather!! It left here by registered "signed for" mail and was back by the same method within 48 hours. All fully working again and 100% :D

I've used mrsporty and got the same level of service . He is the only I would use and recommend for key fob repairs.
