Hi guys just got a used key fob for my discovery td5 it has the 6 digit number can I program this with hawkeye?

Hi Iv tried a couple different codes from your Dropbox which ones do I do the top ones or the ones with lr tech? The last time I tried it said there are 5 keys already programmed so I am scared now to try again? Many thanks

As long as you don,t overwrite the primary key, one in box 1, you will be fine. Better still if you find somebody with nanocom, they can just do it from the 6 digit number inside the key fob.

it's not certain that the key which works is saved in slot 1 though...read the short code from inside your good key, use the converter and compare with the saved codes... if the convertor will give you a code which you can identify in one of the slots you can work and overwrite any other but as said with nanocom is easyer... though you should erase any code which is not from one of your keys anyway to not wake up one morning without the car if you see what i mean

Cheers buddy. I'm going to leave it for my mechanic as I'm already a bit nervous. He did tell me not to go playing around. Shall I get him to erase the other ones but my main?

Oh dear :( does that mean tomorrow morning I could go to unlock and it doesn't? very nervous now.. after I did all that earlier I still managed to start it as normal and unlock and everything so do u think it will be ok or do I urgently need to call my mechanic?

no it doesnt mean that, no worries... it means that somebody else with one of the programmed keys can unlock it and drive away, quite unlikely but possible

there are many land rover key programmers,if you are interest in,you can buy a programmer to program new keys by yourself.

That`s what I did. Can`t recall the company name, but when I lost my main key I found out the spare unlocked the door but didn't do the ignition. I got the barrel changed by a locksmith (yes I know it`s easy but ins company needed proof for my keycare cover) & bought 2 blank keys, with 2 transponders that you plug into the diagnostic port. After that it was a case of wait 30 seconds & once blue led light up remove & job done.

Ask around the forum to see if someone in your local area has a Nanocom to program your key.
Some people will do it for free (like myself) or charge you a pint of lager.

hello,
is there any possibility to convert a long code to a short one?
I have nanocom, and a friend bought a new key from ebay. Unfortunately, there is no 6-digit code inside, only a sticker with long-code.
