Hello everyone! I'm brazilian, and if the government problems werent enough my father's Range Rover 2002 L322 4.4 v8 had a terrible problem...
well...from one day to the other we just could not start the car since the key did not turn!!we even called a mechanic that put the car on the computer that didn't show anything!
can you please help me??
and i'm sorry i'm lost here, i don't know if i post that on correct place!
thank you very much!

Yes, I did tryed to use the spare key...And i've checked the fuse box too...there are 3 fuses for something like a car lock...
if i take a specific one and than put it back than the car will work...but if i dont do that every single time ill turn it on it wont work!
the car had an ar conditioning problem too recently...the vent did not work...im quite worried about it!
and i'm sorry, datatek, i dont know what the Fob is! :p please help me!
thank you!

Sounds like an immobiliser issue

Might have to take it to a garage with diagnostics equipment

Brake pad warning won't be linked to this issue, but in any case your brake pads have worn very low so get them sorted asap

FOB is the thing you press buttons on to get into the car.

If the key will not physically turn is this not something to do with the steering lock? I have had this years ago on a honda civic.

Just try wriggling the steering wheel from side to side whilst trying to turn the key in the ignition gently and see if it comes free?

Unless these have an electric steering lock then it could be more of a problem.

To be clear though, when you press the button the car will unlock, you just cant turn the key in the ignition barrel?

Soo...im thinking on problems related to immobiliser...i have read about steering lock ECU fail too...what do you think?
And yes, quavey, it unfortunately has an eletronic lock system...
And datatek, the fob is working normally...im getting quite worried about the car...
