Anyone know how to add a new key (transponder) to the Immobiliser ECU (for a 2001 Freelander)? I can view the working key using T4 unit but you can only add a key that the ECU has 'learned' and I have no idea how to do this.

Anyone have a clue how the ECU learns a new key transponder code?

Doesn't anyone know how to pair a key to the ECU??

I think you have to go to main dealer or independent to get it working,That's what I have seen on here.
Search for new key fobs and you should find it.

Key transponder is under a different part to plip coding.

Try going security then maintanance, should be there as Learn Key.

Finally got round to adding my second key but there is no key learning under security > maintenance. Anyone else know where you / how to make the ECU learn a key??
