Hi all,
My Nreg P38 has a new issue. The key fobs working fine but over the last 2 weeks I have had to change the batteries 4 times!. Does anyone have any thoughts before I needlessly buy a keyfob repair kit off ebay, all that comes with is new buttons but I am not sure if thats the issue?

Any advice welcome,

Alternatively if anyone has a spare keyfob going spare ( I am prepared to offer beer tokens) please let me know.

Steve

Thanks J,
As to whether any other keyfob will do, I am not sure is any other Land Rover keyfob will work with a P38?

I was told when changing the batteries, not put any finger print/ grease marks off your fingers as it adversly affects the batteries and how long they last!... I followed this rule.. They been in nearly a year

Poor quality batteries, or shelf life expired stock. Try batteries from a different supplier. Also check that the Fob LED does not come on if you shake the Fob around. Finally, the buttons are much to easy to press accidentaly when the Fob is in your pocket which won't help battery life.

Bought new batteries from asda and from tescos, i checked the led also, it comes on when new batteries are first inserted but within a day or so it no longer comes on.

Also considered the pocket theory and have kept keys in my desk at work and on a hook at home for the last few weeks thinking the same as you, but to no avail :0(

i always buy my battries from the main dealer and they fit them for me just to be on the safe side. ITS THE ONLY TIME I USE THE MAIN DEALER!

Good idea then go back when the battery fails:D Tesco and Asda, I wonder if they are cheapo Chinky batteries?
