hello mate i had the same problem, so eventually after a long look around i found a company named
REMOTE KEY LTd web add:

Land Rover Discovery I Key Fob

I got one of them and i has worked very well for last few months. Good luck.

If your central locking isn't working getting a fob won't help, they only give you the facility for remote central locking.

there was no keyfobs with the car locks on key... that why i ask if getting replacements will save the locking of car with key.. thanks

So your central locking is working perhaps u should have added 'remotely' "What are my options to get central locking working again"

You must have a single button system as with the two button systems you wouldn't be able to remobilise your engine without a fob being present.
So just find your the alarm/centrol locking ECU and note the operating frequency and then purchase the fob. single button fobs are 'user programmable' to the ECU unlike the two button fobs.

were are you based???if u are in the derby area then i could supply and code new ( two button ) plips for about 65 quid plus vat ( genuine land rover ones)

thanks i did miss this but the statement is not exactly true as he could still have a twin button plip and only have a " remote central locking system" not a " remote lock and imob sytem"

Unless told different, we have to assume the system is standard ie. as it left the factory and the immobilisling function has not been bypassed.

This all confuzzles me, I have an Early K plate 200tdi, with I guess a factory fit alarm, that activates / de activates on the key, when I unlock/lock it (my indicators flash) it has an LED on the dash, and alarm sensors above the interior light. - its also got trigger sensors on the lock barrel in the door.

Would this work with a fob so I can have RCL? Or shall I just install my Clifford?

A easy one, YES.
But only if the ecu is fully working and there's not a problem with the receiver side of it. You can only try it's funny that fobs all go missing on the early D1s, you will have a greater transmit range with a Glifford or similar system :)

Now there's a thing. I have a 200TDi 1993/94 model which needed replacement key fobs which I bought from Remote Key Ltd and they work just great. Instructions really simple and reasonably priced. However my indicators don't flash on arm or disarm regardles of whether I use the key or remote. Never bothered me but would be nice to know which bit isn't working.

I have just used remote key as Alexdon suggests.
Mine is an M reg and the ecu is in the front passenger footwell up the inside on the left.
You will need a mirror, torch, the ability to stand on your head in the footwell and be able to read upside down and back to front in order to obtain the information on the White label on the ecu.
Email Remote key with the information ( if you wish to speak to them, email them and they will send you a phone number to call).
My key arrived the next day and was tuned in within minutes.
All doors arm/disarm and the indicators flash to let me know its done.
