Hi can anyone suggest a good place to send my spare key fob for repair I live in spain and am unable to get a repair done here so I need somewhere reliable and reasonably priced to send it to. look forward to your replies

Thanks for your replies but I need the key fob repairing by a specialist repair company I am asking if anyone knows of a good and reliable one I can send it to

You dont say what the problem is? If its just the rubber buttons that are worn out this is a simple diy repair with one of the kits already detailed. Just a sharp blade needed to pop the old rubber out. If its batteries have gone flat again simple replacement and resyncronise as per your handbook. If the remote is not working at all I believe you will probably have problems getting it repaired and amy have to get a new one along with a new BECM module. Check out various threads on this subject (BECM) I haven't used any suppliers/repairs to recommend.
Good luck

You can order a new working key fob ONLY via a main stealer - you will need the registration docs of your Rangie and about £150 - they have to order it from Germany. Don't waste time and money trying to buy them on ebay THEY WILL NOT WORK ON YOUR CAR. EVER. Do a search on this topic!!!

As the Lady (Rangiegal) says..apart from changing the button pad and battery cover, your stuffed if it's a P38 keyfob.

2nd hand fobs will not work and can't be re programmed.....FULL STOP

HWO MUCH!!!
i was going to have a new one and get it re-programmed at the main stealers it wernt going to cost that much £105 ..............
the new fobs are only £38 from the main landy dealers

The main stealer has to order it from Huf in Germany...a new one with key, programmed to your car is around £!50 according to Hunters both in Derby and and Norwich....never heard of one for £38 other than on ebay and it can't be programmed to your car!!!

Hello in reply to some of your comments I have tried all the normal things like fitting a new refurb kit including 2 lots of new batteries I also have no intension of buyng off ebay I was asking if anyone knew of anywhere to get a professional repair but if this is not possible as Irish Rover seems to suggest then I have a problem as living in Spain it is not easy to get anything done on a land rover as I have found in te past. Many thanks for all your replies anyway

Something you need to know abut RR keys, don't even consider buying a replacement key from Landrover unles you defenitley know what key No. you already have, 1, 2 or 3, there is supposed to be a sticker on the fob. i.e. if you have a No. 1, then you must buy a No. 2 or 3, etc. If you buy the same as you already have, IT WILL NOT WORK!! Even LR can't help.
I have only 1 key, but no sticker, so I don't know which I have, so cannot buy a spare, & am petrified of losing/damaging it!!
I believe all 3 original keys were VERY slightly a different colour, but its very difficult to see, all 3 must be set side by side it bright light to see the difference, so what we need is someone with all 3 keys, & each having a sticker, then just maybe ours/yours can be checked to order the replacement, what a bummer!!

Thanks Modelman and Stethefitter for your replies I do have key 1 and key 2 which is the one that doesnt work I have put them together and I cannot see any difference in the colour despite looking closely under a bright light I will contact the website you offered me to see what they say but judging by what other forum members have said I am a little wary about their claims. thanks again

Has anyone used this company, whats the cost and do they work ?

One of my remotes rattles. Hence parts have fallen off inside and its packed up ?.

hi, i dont want to insult you but i put a thread on recently regarding key fobs ,and without sounding condescending you have been told wrong or you obviously dont know what your talking about ,,the facts are ,you need to go to main dealer with your v5 logbook and some photo i,d, the parts man will enter your vin no on computer this will tell him what keys have been purchased when your p38 was new i.e. key no i or 2 or both it is usually i and 2 ,it will also tell him if any other keys have been purchased, then usually the parts man orders no 4 key but now its changed as the key that is supplied is programmed at the huf factory in germany and does NOT need syncing to the car when you have paid £128.00 to the parts man and then he will ring you in approx 5-8 days so then you go back to them with your reciept and i.d. he hands the key over ,you go out to your cars press the unlock button on your new fob ,get in start up and drive away.. EXACTLY like i did less than 3 months ago so as i said this is the definitive answer and have only answered this post to help and not to antagonize anyone ,,,kind regards mozz the re-sync man :):):)

Hi understand a company called rovacom repairs them you can look them up online i have spoke to them and found them very helpfull, but ended up buying new fob, which resolved my specific problems.
