I have to put in eka evrytime i wana use car and manually unlock drivers door. I have tried several different ways stated on this site to resync my keyfob but no luck, i have looked at rf unit its all connected fine, had key fob checked its sending out signal so im stuck n not sure what else to try can any1 help me please, thanx king E.:)

I am having the same problem with my P38 96 diesel, accept it will not accept the EKA number and will not let me start the engine. So my car is literally off the road...

It seems that if one of the doors does not unlock, the BECM thinks the car is being stolen, hence the reason you have to put in the EKA code each time. Apparently this could mean either the BECM is not waking up properly, could be a sensor in the door, or a replacement door latch....

(Don't ask me though how you are supposed to replace the door latch if you can't unlock or open the passenger door.)

If you post on the forum and ask if there is anyone nearby with a FAULTMATE MSV-2 they may be able to diagnose your problem without having to go to a main dealer?

I am waiting to hear from some chaps near me who have the Faultmate MSV-2 to see if they are able to help me with the problem. I bet it is something really simple, but you never know. If I get a solution for mine I will let you know. If you get one before me, I would be grateful if you could tell me as I am totally lost without my car in this weather at the moment.

Cheers

Hi 4x4 p38 thanx for the info will let you know if i find anything out, jus let you know i can manually unlock passanger door from inside and the door then opens when i manually relock passenger door all my door locks lock so i have to manually unlock drivers door fr inside which unlocks all doors except the passengers door again

No, my passenger door hasn't worked for ages (waiting for a reasonably priced replacement to come up) but doesn't affect the BECM or anything. Just the motor has burnt out inside the lock actuator. You can buy a rear lock actuator (cheaper) and just take it apart and swap the motor over (just unclips and clips in).

Don't think putting the EKA code in everytime is good. What ways have you tried to resynch the key?

Hi grrrrr i have tried holding the unlock button and putting key in turning left holding for 5 secs, tried the same but then pressing the lock button turning key right holding for 5 secs, tried all the above then putting key in ignition to possition 2 taking key out n pressing buttons, tryed putting key in possition 2 discinecting batery then reconecting battery, but nuffin seems t work
