Hi, i bought a 98 p38dse am now having problems with it saying keycode lockout, my problem started with headgasket and a head then it was flattening its battery overnight, now wont allow me to start it. When I got the car there was no keycode card with it, any ideas??

hi i am having similar sorts of problems so perhaps i can help you a bit,
you should be able to ring your local dealer and get the eka code from them, just hope that you have not had your becm replaced inbetween time or that could cause you a problem. as for your battery flattening i would hazzard a guesss that just like my poorly car it may be picking up wifi signals etc and not letting the becm sleep, try disconnecting the aeriel from the rf receiver , just means that you have to be really close to the car to unlock or you could replace the rf receiver, but i am sure more knowledgable people will be along soon to fill in the gaps in my knowledge
regards
dave

main dealer with proof of id and reg doc.for eka code.keycode lock out happens when wrong code entered or misentered code three times[i think],you have to wait 30 mins before you can retry code.flattening battery could be your r/f reciever waking up the becm and relocking your front doors.if this persists it will burn out the lock motors.disconnect f/r compleatly and see if this cures flattening prob.if it does buy new r/f from R/R not from fleabay!!

Tomcat is right don't buy one from fleabay it is likely to be one someone has replaced with the new model. The remote receiver you want is the updated one part number ywy500170, this should solve stray rf problems like flattening the battery and potentially scrambling the becm. Price is upwards of £170.

Many thanks for suggestions, got mate from L/R dealer to bring autologic down, it appears that both front doors cant/wont lock so getting new drivers door lock then will try it again, cheers every body.

before you fit new door locks disconnect r/f unit otherwise everything will appear to be fine until the r/f wakes the becm up and relocks front locks again and again and again until the lock motors burn out AGAIN.check my previous posts about not buying off fleabay.
