Hi
Anyone around Kent doing some greenlaning that wouldn’t mind letting me tag along? Have a stock Freebie mk1 td4 on AT tyres.
Nothing too mental to start. Have joined GLASS and have TW2, just looking for a buddy or 2 as I’ve not done it before.

Glass forum seems awfully quiet.

Cheers
Darren

I can’t help with laning in Kent but it might be worth contacting your local GLASS rep who might be able to advise if there are local groups. Your local Landy club would also be worth a look.

Thanks - It would appear that the Kent GLASS rep is someone called Vacant. He hasn’t replied as yet.
Perhaps there is a second job opportunity for me!

Will keep looking…

I’m a GLASS member and have had occasional contact from our rep until he stood down last year. We now have a new one. I’d assumed Kent had one but as you’ve found a gap, why not give it a go?

Whereabouts in Kent?
Do you mind the odd scratch? as lots of the lanes are tight.
Most lanes are far from mental, quite a few require a council permit for the gate codes, permit is free and available from the rights of way officer.
As for glass!

I thought that a pre-requisite to being a rep would be to have a little experience :)
Hell - best I can do at the moment is rummage my way around TW2!

I’m just outside of Ashford, but happy to go out and about. Don’t mind the odd scratch, that’s what I got Freddie for. AT tyres going on this weekend.
I’ve applied to prow at Kent council for that permit…o_O

Let me know when you have permit and we can go for a potter around bluebell hill/pilgrims way as quite a few lanes around there, all close together so no need to do loads of miles.
The council/gov map also shows right of ways, pita to navigate the site though!

I’m based near Dover and would be up for a Kent landyzone green laneing day if you would like another rusty landrover

The more, the merrier as far as I’m concerned!
As soon as mine is ‘ready’ and I have my permit, I’ll be in touch

Maybe a few other Kent members will see this and perhaps get a group of us together for a day of light laneing

I think every car needs a permit, though I doubt anyone checks especially if its at the weekend, but as I am sure you know there are Karens everywhere!
I should add that none of the lanes around bluebell hill are permit jobs.

The prow permits from kcc are only required for a few lanes around halling/ luddesdown area, although I think they are a couple of nice long ones. I’ve already heard back from them and they are ‘processing’ mine… only applied on Monday so not too bad.

yes… I guarantee we’ll run into a few Karen’s!!!

So to confirm, we have haza, lynall and myself up for a bit of a meet and some laning in Kent sometime soon - any more?
We’ll soon have a club at this rate ! o_O

Any other Kent members fancy a day out laning?
Must be able to get more than three of us

Well I’ve got my new AT tyres fitted, so I’m ready!
(Well, still waiting on a permit for those lanes that need it)
Also booked to have a recon VCU done in 2 weeks, just for peace of mind.

My old girl needs some bits doing so I’ll crack on with the list and hopefully a few other members will put names forward in the meantime
