Hi all, I have a dilemma. I bought a 1999 landrover defender county 110 in September 2013. Nice vehicle. Did the hpi check for outstanding finance/stolen vehicle etc and it all came back good. Last week I took it for its first MOT under my ownership. The garage phoned to ask to look at the RegDoc and last MOT -which I then supplied. The guy then refused to do the test as he discovered that the number on the vin plate and chassis differed from that on the logbook. In fact the chassis/vin plate no. denotes that my defender is in fact a 1981 series 3. What to do now????? I have sent the logbook to the DVLA with a change of chassis number to reflect that on the actual chassis but is this gonna open up a can of worms and a complete nightmare. The fact remains that I have given goo money for a vehicle that is 18 yrs older than advertised by the garage and sold to me. Gonna be a case for trading standards I guess. Does anyone have any thoughts
