Hi,

I've just joined the Disco owners group after having to sell my 90:( My wife wanted a car where the kids didn't slide around uncontrollably at the back!! so unreasonable!!
Anyway, its a 300 TDI, I thought they had bags loads of power but found my 90TD had much more torque. It could pull away in 3rd if necessary and I think I've become a lazy driver, relying on the torque.
The discos good but I have to change gear a lot and have found that when I decelerate and then put my foot on the accelerator the kangaroo juice comes in and I have to very gently reapply!! Is there something wrong? does it need something? Its a 94 300TDi by the way.

gearing is different on 90 to disco, that is why it won't take off in a higher gear. no it shouldn't be like a kangaroo, whendid nit have its last service as it sounds like your filter is clogging same with sedimentor

My 200 used to be a bit like a kangaroo when I bought it, changed front axle and its loads better. There is less play in my transmission so I am guessing that this is why the kangaroo sensation has gone.

I had a similar problem on my Td5 and it turned out the turbo waste gate was sticking. Easy to resolve. I assume the 300Tdi folllows a similar confirguration?
