Hi yes its very easy to fit a piston with the engine still in i have done many,
Take the sump off remove oil rail and away you are 2 bolts push it out, new piston in,
very simple with the head off

that sounds almost to easy!!!!!!!! thanks for that :)

were would be the best place to source a piston from chaps?
it is easy mate go to a scrap yard get a piston out of any 1.8 rover k series, i did have some lying around but think i have lost them i did one last week after i did a head gasket and forgot to take the timing tool out which smashed the piston, it only took me about 4 hours to finish.

haha indeed, the first and last time i will be making this mistake

For the sake of the k-series enthusiasts, I hope it's the last time you'll be working on a k-series. We lose enough due to hgf nevermind incompetent mechanics, this is a school boy error made by a so called specialist.

At least you were honest, but spamming the forum within your first post, won't win you any favours,

Yes a school boy error but a very easy mistake late at night and this was my own car,

unless im mistaken this is a landrover forum, which is for landrover owners normally who need help or advice, i am offering a service to help landrover owners so if you call it spamming fair enough i call letting people on a landrover forum what i do.

i dont get what interests you so much in replying to all my posts, do you have a life?

you dont have a freelander so wont be interesting in what i offer but im sure i have lots of advice to give to genuine freelander owners needing help

Get a life

ave seen yer "website" - looks like its just a google ad carrier

do you really expect peeps to trust a "company" who doesn't advertise their physical address and the only method of contact is via a mobile phone number ?

Like i have said im just starting out, i dont have a big bank balance for high cost marketing, i think my site covers whats needed and i have alot of happy customers i have 3 contracts with big companies rebuilding ird units, i am currently rebuilding over 15 irds a week so i cant be that rubbish.

All i have done is tried to let people know of a cheaper way to resolve there ird problems im not here trying to boast or spam just was advised by a customer to try joining some forums as freelander owners are always in need.

i'm not here to offend anyone i am actually trying to help, but seems as there are alot of either jelous people on here or just people without a life,
wanting to knock me down.

Please note i am an ird specialist only not freelander i have worked on freelanders for many years but now only specialise in ird units

All company's have to start somewhere so please dont knock the fact i dont have a flash website

regards

how about posting some images of your workshop, if only to illustrate you arent working off your kitchen table

information such as what qualification/experience/insurances you have might also help
