Well nothing went pop. And they make a lot more difference than I thought they would.
Maybe my old hoses were worse than I thought, but there's definitely less drop in revs/boost when changing gear. And I can't be making that up as it's an auto.
Overall, well chuffed:)

looks good , plus I also replaced the air intake hose, was so fed up with it being a nightmare getting it on and off

did u have to trim the egr one in the end ,

I also drive an auto and it felt smoother after , but did also replace every vacuum tubing with silicone at the same time

No, the egr hose was the right size. Took quite a bit of fiddling to make it sit right, but no trimming needed:)
Vacuum hoses are on the list of things to do, but that list keeps growing and available money keeps shrinking:rolleyes:

yes it is fiddly getting that egr pipe on, but had to trim mine a little

found at least 4-5 holes in my vaccum hoses , where they had touched the engine,

did find buying the vaccum hoses in silicone was cheaper than oem , also handy as the one that goes from the turbo vent mechanism , across the engine , in front of the crankcase breather a lot longer than standard hoses

also found holes by the vaccum pump , hope u don't mind me saying be very careful removing the hose off the vacuum reservoir at the back , as I snapped the bit of plastic off whilst removing

think it was about 10-15 quid from dealers

Always good to know. I had heard that the vac reservoir was delicate, it definitely looks it, always reminds me of something out if a fisher price play set!

I was able to make my last one fit without cutting but it had to bend a bit which meant it collapsed slightly at the bend. I didn't like the idea of the airflow being restricted so cut it to be the same size as the original. My kit was for a facelifted car and so that might have been the problem. Hopefully the new kit being Bearmach and for the correct model will fit without any issues.

Where did you get the silicone vac hoses from. I had a look on flea bay and couldn't find any specifically for the TD4.

It's pretty standard stuff, I think @Nodge68 quoted the size the other day, 3.5 mm or something like that.
Im sure someone will post the correct size;)

A belated happy birthday, but excellent timing on the new pipes turning up. They look great!
(beginning to wish I put blue one on mine too - instead I was too conservative and went for black).

Will see how it goes and if good will order some blue for the Doris' 4 door.

Edit, and this turned up this morning. :)

Do all TD4's come with a socket set bolted to the engine cover ?

that is a really good idea from LR :D I mean, they KNOW they will be needed on most journeys.
Also, why does it have a nuclear hazard symbol on the front slam plate ?... did you buy it of @Skinny Mike

Joe ;)

Socket set and a roll of gaffa tape. Solves all known problems.

LOL, With the right tools it's a ten minute job, 1/4" socket set, long flat screwdriver and a little pry bar with a right angle end for encouraging the end of the hose to go on.
I worked on cars for years with multi sided sockets and without a 1/4" set. Every job was a chore and most bolts were rounded off.
