Thought I'd better join you as I've been getting gen from your past dilemmas/experiences. Got my first L/R way back in '62 when I was in Kenya with the RAF, used it all over E. Africa. Next L/R was in Zambia when I was seconded to Zambia Air Force, went all over Zambia and Botswana. Lost count the number of times we got stuck in the rainy season but used local manpower to get back out. Back in UK have worked my way up through all marks to a TD5 station wagon. Had to sell this as my son now moved to Cumbria and I am getting to old for a 385 mile journey in a Defender. Moved up (down?) to a 07 FL 2 GS. Had the usual problems, latest one is getting it to start during this cold snap. :blabla:

Thanks Juicey, yes 1962 was a long time ago, in my youth then so didn't mind driving up to 100 miles on dirt roads for Sunday lunch without ear defenders and getting bogged down was a way of life.
