hi to everyone on the forum -
i've just bought my first ever landy - a 1992 2.5 diesel discovery due to the arrival of my 4th rugrat and the need for the extra seat, and i am as pleased as the proverbial pig in s**t!!
190,000m, all original bits, including the jack, full sh, everything works, drives great(although after having a 2.0 mondeo auto, i'm still getting used to the drop in speed!!!), all it needs is a bit of welding by the back bumper.
all for £750!
my male pride would not allow me to be seen driving an eggbox-shaped mpv:eek: , so this was like a lottery win!!
looking forward to using the forums, and looking forward even more to ripping the disco around wales this year!!
 
timing belt - not sure, but i'm planning on putting it in for a full service in the next month, so i'll make sure that's done - any other routine stuff i should be aware of - advice gladly taken!
as for the thumbs - you want to see me peel a banana!
 
i'm also going to take the back bumper off and lift the boot carpet to see the extent of the welding - i'm hoping to post a picture to see if anyone can tell me if i can buy the panel/sill/whatever-it-is as a new piece, or if i will need to make one from scratch.
 
Least you didn't get a fancy ford with the rover emblems;) Some people really like how shiny they can be..... just like little raacoons...they collect shiny things.

nice to be called intelligent - although using an american as a benchmark is setting the bar a bit low!
