Hi! Guys,

Just got my 1991 defender 110 2.5 Diesel NA yesterday. A lot of work needs to be done on the engine, steering, brakes and then ofcourse the interiors and last a complete paint job.

Will surely look at the forum members in helping me with more knowledge as I have very little knowledge on Landys.

THis is a great forum and I look forward to a lot on interaction with fellow members.

Just love to get the beast in mint- showroom condition.
 
Join the club mate. Got mine in january and been working on it since, 17 fail items in the MOT, but doing a few bits every weekend soon gets it sorted. Be ready for some hard work, 4 letter words, oil on the drive and grease under the fingernails.:eek: :eek:

It all worth it tho;)

Aye still available to foreign markets apparently. He is in India don't forget.
 
Its a 1990 with a 2.5 N/A. Just in yesterdays newspaper. Tata are opening their first premium own showroom for Jag & LR in Mumbai in April 2009. Sadly they will have all the vehicles but the Defender. May be on special order. The indian army is looking at buying over 500 Defenders hopefully.

Hope The defender is available in India, atleast then I can get parts easily. The Defender will sell in huge numbers as everyone in India loves LR and especially the Defender, as its a nice massive SUV/Off Roader. For the guys who want to show off its the RR Sport. Already saw atleast 5 RR in Bangalore.

And if you've a rich friend, try and import 300tdi ROW (rest of the world) defenders.

2. New wheel cylinders all round,
3. Brand new Britpart Blue Polybush Bush kit,
4. Added PAS Kit,
5. Got the A/C working,
6. New Handbrake shoes & cable,
7. New Bonnet Release Cable,
8. New Timing belt, tensioner & gaskets.
10. New Glow Plugs,
11. New Injectors,
12. New Bottom hose,
13. New Breather hose,
14. New Oil, Air & Fuel filters,
15. New Master Cylinder,
16. New Expansion Tank,
17. New Washer Tank,
18. New Sealed Halogen headlights,
19. New Clutch kit,
20. New Fan belt,
21. New bottom pulley (3 groove)
22. New PAS belt,
23. New A/C compressor belt.
24. New Kenlow cooling fan
25. New Horns
26. New Engine & Gearbox beddings.

Well hope to do all the above is stages. Wish I was in UK, then I could get it done better and no problems for parts too.

Guys please do help me on my restoration, sorry if I am bugging you with questions, but I am just starting. Have already ordered the Parts Manual, have the workshop manual, restoration manual etc.

Will be getting most of my Stuff from UK.
