Your biggest mistake was taking a closer look. It
never pays. Ignorance is bliss.

Im actually doubting whats been said now, so Im getting a second opinion tomorrow, the rot is below the number plate area, on the inside of the cross member, approx 6 inches missing and the rest seems solid, so maybe this can be salvaged as Ive seen a lot worse on here that have been repaired to a good state.

Im thinking that they couldnt be bothered to do the work and wanted to offload it.

I will know more tomorrow.

Also the outrigger has x2 holes one on the door side, one on top, neither are more than an inch.

I live in Lancashire

But, as I slowly figured out it doesnt need a new cross member or outrigger, I took it to a specialist today who is happy to weld it and says there is no need at all for replacements and that he has fixed much worse. So Im really pleased with that verdict.

:clap2:

Any chance you could show a few more pics of the paint work. I'm hoping to use the exact same stuff for my 110.
