Hello, i'm new to this site. I have a problem with my freelander (02reg), the fuel guage is working the wrong way round, i'v changed the pump, but same result. can somebody point me in the right direction. cheers

You need to let us know where you live mate, then we can point you in the right direction to your nearest scrap yard, dump the Hippo and run before they can charge you for taking it off your hands. :D:D

Thanks.
have only one wire from the tank sender to guage. are there two types of tank senders?

There are different types, but only where the electrics are concerned! I would suggest it is earthing somewhere, this may be in the loom or even on the pump itself if someone has changed the pump head.

To explain that, some had round pin connectors, some had flat pin connectors. The pumps are quite pricey so sell on ebay well. If the connectors are wrong, you change the head, by unclipping the head, and swapping the head of the old one, to the new one and reconnecting the 4 wires. Someone may have got one of these wires wrong!

Firstly, check from the gauge backwards and make sure you have no wires earthing.

least its correct in the half way position,

dump the ****er and buy somethin better :)

id sort out the bad earth on the sender / gauge first tho, try reversing polarity of connections.

You can either live with it as is, and all your mates will think your nuts - especially if you lend it to them with a 'full tank' lol!

Or I do have a sender in the shed, if that is the fault.
